Sites around Citerna - Day 2

This is the courtyard inside the original fortress. Now its a small park.

The castle wall.

Some weird Italian guy that wanted me to take his picture. *Cough, Cough*

The main street running through town.

A street paved with a very ancient material called asphalt derived from a substance known as petroleum. Actually, I just thought the trees looked cool!

This is a panoramic looking out over to the Tuscan side of the mountain.

Here is the only portion of the old fortress this is still completely standing.

What a beautiful, quaint village. Is Mr. Daniel a Christian? Daddy says great job on the panoramic and to do more. He loved seeing that. We love that "weird Italian guy" picture. I took the girls to the zoo today just so I could feel like I was on top of the world in Citerna. There is a nice new aviary! Couldn't pull the girls out of there. We miss you and are with you in heart and spirit. The fortress is awesome!! Love you bunches!!

Wow, Italy! We are so excited for you! Citerna looks wonderful, and we love the history (we're history buffs). We will be following the blog, and praying for you (and your Mom - I'd be a wreck with one of mine so far away)! Have a great time and "let your light shine" (as you always do)! Love from all the Skinner Crew
